Mars Wrigley — a manufacturer that operates a state-of-the-art, roughly 500,000-square-foot candy production facility in Topeka, Kansas — announced the latest product innovation of its M&M’S® brand: M&M’S Caramel Cold Brew.
The sweet new product will be available across the U.S. in February 2023, packaged in sizes ranging from 1.41 to 9.05 oz, with prices ranging from $1.19 to $4.99.
According to Allison Miazga-Bedrick, Senior Marketing Director at Mars Wrigley, the organization has seen trends in coffee drinkers, especially Gen Zs, seeking out cold brew coffee beverages with varying flavor combinations.
“Mars’ M&M’S brand decided to tap into the booming cold brew coffee scene and pair it with a confectionary favorite – caramel,” Miazga-Bedrick said. “The result? A fun twist to an on-trend favorite that delivers an exceptional coffee flavor experience, all within a classic bag of M&M’S — perfect to enjoy on the go while catching up with friends or sharing a taste of the M&M’S Caramel Cold Brew candies to make new ones.”
Promotions of the new product will feature M&M’S first new character in more than a decade, a peanut M&M named Purple. In a press release, Mars Wrigley said the new “spokescandy” was made to “represent acceptance and inclusivity.”
Mars Wrigley also plans to release its limited-edition holiday Espresso flavor in Winter 2022, making M&M’S Caramel Cold Brew the second coffee flavor announce by the company this year. Information about this and other M&M’S products can be found on the brand’s website and social media pages.
